Ever After polish: Mermaid Princess

Hello sweet friends!  Many months ago I mentioned I was going to post the other half of this Ever After Polish duo that is the companion polish to Let's Eat Cake! and finally I am!
This pretty blue holo polish is called Mermaid Princess.

Swatches are 2 easy coats of Mermaid Princess. It's an ultramarine blue holo polish with sparse blue microflakes.  The formula was absolutely a dream, I adored how easy this was to work with.  I topped Mermaid Princess with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.
I loved the other polish in this duo too, so it's hard to pick a favorite but this might have a slight edge.

Aside from all the pretty polishes, I highly recommend their cuticle crelly (it's a cream and oil mashup).  Miranda creates some amazing scents and rotates them all the time. The cuticle crelly soaks in quickly without any greasy feeling and my cuticles feel great!  My personal favorite scent is Pink Champagne....it's amazing!  I have a crelly at home and at work, and a few friends loving them too.  You will not be disappointed if you add one to your polish purchase!

You can find Ever After Polish here:

Ever After has a fan group too, so if you're interested in joining just let me know below.  Thanks for stopping by!

Essie Chillato & My Favorite Seafoam

 *Purchased by me*

I hope you had a fabulous weekend, whether it was a long 3 day weekend or not!  Labor Day marked the unofficial end of summer in the US, but before we transition into darker Fall polishes I have two more favorites to post.

I've made it no secret that seafoam is my favorite color. This polish made its debut in one of my original posts.  I thought it was time to break it out again!  I've worn it many times since then, and I love it just as much every time.  So first up is an oldie by Forever 21 Love & Beauty Seafoam.

I love how soft and subtle this is, and the glass flecks make it easy to work with.  It is sheer, this is 4 coats but dry time was very fast.

Sadly, Forever 21 changed their polish line so you won't be able to find this exact Seafoam anymore.  One of my very favorite indie brands, Pahlish, just released a subtle holo seafoam polish (Laughter of the Stars) so if you are looking for something in the same family check that out when she restocks!  Once I receive the bottle I purchased from her release on Sunday, I will be posting it....my fingers are crossed!

I also wanted to throw in a swatch of Essie Chillato. It's a very paled out chartreuse - way more so than any of the other similar colors (think Color Club Under the Blacklight and Orly Key Lime Twist).  I have been wearing this color a lot this summer, and I have worn Chillato twice but never posted it.  This one needs 3 coats but wasn't terribly difficult to work with and leveled nicely.  You can still find this one anywhere and it's unique enough that I don't think you will have a color quite the same.

I think both of these colors could transition into fall.  I can see both going well with grey sweaters and boots.  Besides if you really love a color, and it makes you feel good to wear it, that's all the reason you need!  Thanks for stopping by!

SinfulColors Spring Fever: Sail La Vie

*Provided for Review*

SinfulColors took the non traditional road this Spring.  I expected a pastel Spring collection this year (think Sugar Rush and all its glory), but they decided to break everyone out of their winter blahs and go bold and bright!  The Spring Fever collection consists of 24 polishes and only a few are pastel in nature.  Some of these are repromoted or core colors, but there are new specialty polishes too.  Sail La Vie was originally part of a summer collection in 2013 and I missed getting it, but wow am I glad to have it now!  Grab this one if you see it, because it's fantastic and I cannot get enough of this color on my nails!!

Spring ready!

There are a lot of similar blues out there, but for $1.99 the polish and its formula cannot be beat.  I looked up a few swatches and some lean more blue...it's definitely blue toned.  Sail La Vie is just one of those polishes that is chameleon-like in different lighting situations.  Maybe my bottle leans a bit lighter than some, but is a very vibrant pastel.  They describe it as a cerulean sea blue. I think it also leans periwinkle sometimes. This is two extremely easy coats.

I love crellies and don't know of any others that Sinful Colors has done, so I'm excited to share 2 of the 3 they came out with.  Petal Be The Day has royal blue and purple hex glitters in a very sheer tinted base.  It looks like it would build by itself in a few coats, but it doesn't.  I would recommend layering Petal Be The Day over Sail La Vie or Tempest for a close match. Flower Power is the pink base with white and fuchsia glitters.  I haven't tried it yet, but after seeing other swatches you can wear Flower Power on its own.

Below are all 24 shades in the SinfulColors 2015 Spring Fever collection. There are a few others I'm excited to grab including the 3 Citrus Twist jelly toppers (2 have flakies!) and 3 Opalescent toppers that are new.

This collection is currently available at Walgreens, Rite Aid, and other mass retailers for $1.99 each.  You can keep up with SinfulColors on their website, twitter, and other social media.

I can't wait to hear what you favorite polish is from SinfulColors, so let me know!  And here's hoping my bracket (and yours) is still standing on Monday!

Movember Mustache Mani

I'm sure you have seen the hype about Movember and what it stands for, but just in case you can check out the Movemeber Campaign here. The short version is that men grow mustaches to raise money for mens health. And the fun for me is that I've got a little obsession with mustaches (I think they are hilarious) so much that I chose a 'stache centered theme for my little man last year. We had a blast. Anyway, on to the mani!

I started with Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's Two! (ring finger and thumb) and Above the Curve's Lemming Have It. I topped them with Monster Polish Wyatt's Whiskers, a custom that Diana made me for above mentioned party. She also sent me a little bag of mustache glitter to place as I wished. Those are on my ring finger and thumb.

I love the way this turned out! The only thing I'd do a little differently ifs the pre-bend the mustache glitters on my thumb so that they would lay on the nail a little better. This was a really fun mani to create and to wear. As you may have noticed I love purple! And blue isn't far behind on my list, so this combo made me very happy.

Thanks for checking out my 'stache! Are you participating in Movemeber?

Endless Summer - Cult Nails Intriguing

This week I've been attempting to relax and extend my summer a bit at the beach. I've had a few polishes in my untried pile that I decided to bring along. I'm all for Fall, but in truth I'm sad to see Summer go. I love the feeling of freedom that it brings and also the beautiful bright colors. Up first for the week is Cult Nails Intriguing. Though this shade isn't too bright I think it is perfect for the beach and also as a transition color.
Direct Sunlight
Intriguing is a soft scattered holo that is a bit on the sheer side. I used three coats for these pictures and topped it with Above the Curve's 5-free Quick-Dry Topcoat. I'd say this shade is a dusty blue leaning periwinkle.

This was from their Casual Elegance collection that was released in April this year and was limited edition. I really hate to post something that is hard to find, but this turned out to be a lovely shade. I'm sure with a bit of searching you could find this for sale or swap.

I know I mentioned this is a nice transition color. Do you wear colors that are seasonal or do you go with whatever you are feeling? Let us know in a comment!

Thanks for reading!

Love & Beauty Seafoam, A Perfect Color

Anyone who has known me for any length of time (like a couple of hours), probably knows my favorite color is seafoam.  I bought a scarf a few years ago that was the perfect shade of seafoam, and have been in love ever since!  I'm even enjoying coffee in a seafoam mug as I write this!
We all know that mint started popping up on everything last year, and this year continues to be a hugely popular color.  This somewhat helps my cause, because everyone wants to do different shades of mint...so you end up with a few seafoam things thrown in the mix.  I do love mint also, and have quite a few polishes and accessories in mint; but there is a definite distinction between the two colors.  (This is coming from the child who, in kindergarten, lined up all of the shades of blue from her 64 count box of crayons on her desk before she could choose the one to use for coloring her picture.  This led to a parent teacher conference I'm told, where they were requested to get me a smaller box of crayons.  But I digress....)
Now, is it any wonder why I love polishes and all the shade variations?!

Here I have for you a representation of the color I love:

This is Love & Beauty from Forever 21, in Seafoam.  If you have never tried any polishes from Forever 21 before, please do yourself a favor and get a few!  This was the brand that I said in a previous post was highly under publicized.  1.) They're only $2.80 a polish!  2.) They have a fantastic formula  3.) Just look at all the colors and they constantly add new ones!  They carry the polishes both online and in their stores.  For these pictures I used 3 coats.  The formula on this is pretty sheer but builds up very nicely and the shimmer gives it depth.

Look at that shimmer!

I will say Forever 21 could use some help in naming their polishes, they're not very original and you may end up with a few different polishes all with the same name of simply Mint or Lavender etc...  This Seafoam shade is still available here if you would like to add it to your collection!

*Don't forget about the linky party that happens every Friday!  If you are a fellow polish blogger go link up and share your fabulous Friday mani!

Disclaimer: Since we are just getting started we are learning about lighting and such. Please bear with us as we get better at the photography. Thanks!
This pretty polish was purchased by me and is my favorite!
