Essie Chillato & My Favorite Seafoam

 *Purchased by me*

I hope you had a fabulous weekend, whether it was a long 3 day weekend or not!  Labor Day marked the unofficial end of summer in the US, but before we transition into darker Fall polishes I have two more favorites to post.

I've made it no secret that seafoam is my favorite color. This polish made its debut in one of my original posts.  I thought it was time to break it out again!  I've worn it many times since then, and I love it just as much every time.  So first up is an oldie by Forever 21 Love & Beauty Seafoam.

I love how soft and subtle this is, and the glass flecks make it easy to work with.  It is sheer, this is 4 coats but dry time was very fast.

Sadly, Forever 21 changed their polish line so you won't be able to find this exact Seafoam anymore.  One of my very favorite indie brands, Pahlish, just released a subtle holo seafoam polish (Laughter of the Stars) so if you are looking for something in the same family check that out when she restocks!  Once I receive the bottle I purchased from her release on Sunday, I will be posting it....my fingers are crossed!

I also wanted to throw in a swatch of Essie Chillato. It's a very paled out chartreuse - way more so than any of the other similar colors (think Color Club Under the Blacklight and Orly Key Lime Twist).  I have been wearing this color a lot this summer, and I have worn Chillato twice but never posted it.  This one needs 3 coats but wasn't terribly difficult to work with and leveled nicely.  You can still find this one anywhere and it's unique enough that I don't think you will have a color quite the same.

I think both of these colors could transition into fall.  I can see both going well with grey sweaters and boots.  Besides if you really love a color, and it makes you feel good to wear it, that's all the reason you need!  Thanks for stopping by!

Pahlish - She Sells Sea Shells (Bespoke Batch)

 *Purchased*

I've really come to enjoy March...college basketball, Shamrock shakes, great weather, Easter candy, and mint/ pastels galore!  There have been some amazing Spring polishes by indie polish makers so far, and Pahlish She Sells Sea Shells is right at the top of my list.
Just look at Pahlish's description: She Sells Sea Shells is a soft Tiffany blue cream with a subtle green undertone; flecked with a mix of purple, taupe, and gold flakes accented by metallic pink/purple/blue chromatic flakes!
 Game. Set. Match.

I really don't need to say how much I adore this polish.  I feel so lucky that I was able to grab this one!  If you don't know much about Pahlish, she has amazing seasonal collections, duos and other creations.  She also releases some special Bespoke Batch polishes.  These are limited edition, small batch polishes and Pahlish usually reveals what Bespoke Batch will be available a day or two before her restock.  (So, check Pahlish's Facebook and their shop!)
My apologies for posting this lovely polish, knowing that it's not available any longer...but Pahlish does polishes like this quite a bit so I'm sure there will be plenty other beauties in the future!

But really, don't you feel just a little bit better knowing that this exists in the world?  Maybe that's a little over the top, but that's how I feel when I see seafoam anything!)

My photos show 3 coats of She Sells Sea Shells with no topcoat. Dry time was great and I know I'll be reaching for this polish constantly throughout Spring and Summer!  Pahlish is celebrating their 3 year anniversary, so I bet there will be some fantastic polishes coming up! :)
Have a great week and let me know the best Spring polish you have come across so far this season!

Forget Me Not: OPI Thanks a Windmillion

The OPI Nordic collection is all the rage right now, but I wanted to remind you all of another OPI that would also be great as a transition color into fall. This is OPI Thanks a Windmillion from the Holland collection.  I am so ready for fall, football, scarves and pumpkin everything! Side note: I am burning a new Bath & Body Works candle right now called Tailgate...and I am OBSESSED with the scent!  If you're a fan of their candles I would highly recommend checking it out! Anyway back to this lovely polish...

OPI's Holland collection is a few years old, so that's why I'm titling this as a 'forget me not'.  The formula for Thanks a Windmillion is perfect and this is 2 easy coats. I wanted to make a glitter sandwich but until I get a hold of a bottle of Glitter Off, I am hesitating using a chunky glitter.  I decided to at least try it matted, so these photos are all with one coat of Essence Soft Touch matte topcoat.  So, it's not the most intricate look but still super pretty!

Shade
I love the dustiness that Thanks a Windmillion has; it's very greyed looking in indoor light.  Really almost a sage color, but with just enough blue in it for me to still classify it as a borderline seafoam.  I would grab this, if you can still find it in store...OPI had transitioned this into their core collection.  Otherwise, I imagine it would be fairly easy to find on Amazon.

I hope you all are enjoying fall where you are!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Butter London Two Fingered Salute

This polish has been around for a couple of years now, but I consider it a definite "must have" in every collection.  Two Fingered Salute by Butter London is a lovely patina seafoam green with a pinkish copper shimmer that has an eggshell finish on the nail.  A quick swipe of top coat really brought this polish to a different level, so I suggest trying it both ways!

The formula is fantastic and this was two easy coats and a topcoat of Out The Door.  If you don't use top coat it won't be nearly as shiny, but still really pretty in a different way!  I love this for fall because the seafoam has enough of a greyed quality to it that it's not bright. The coppery shimmer screams fall to me, but really this is a year-round color.

Shimmer!

Outside - natural light
Two Fingered Salute was exclusive to Nordstorm but now can still be purchased on Butter London's website...which I've linked in case I caught you during a moment of weakness. :) I hope you like this one as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by!

Love & Beauty Seafoam, A Perfect Color

Anyone who has known me for any length of time (like a couple of hours), probably knows my favorite color is seafoam.  I bought a scarf a few years ago that was the perfect shade of seafoam, and have been in love ever since!  I'm even enjoying coffee in a seafoam mug as I write this!
We all know that mint started popping up on everything last year, and this year continues to be a hugely popular color.  This somewhat helps my cause, because everyone wants to do different shades of mint...so you end up with a few seafoam things thrown in the mix.  I do love mint also, and have quite a few polishes and accessories in mint; but there is a definite distinction between the two colors.  (This is coming from the child who, in kindergarten, lined up all of the shades of blue from her 64 count box of crayons on her desk before she could choose the one to use for coloring her picture.  This led to a parent teacher conference I'm told, where they were requested to get me a smaller box of crayons.  But I digress....)
Now, is it any wonder why I love polishes and all the shade variations?!

Here I have for you a representation of the color I love:

This is Love & Beauty from Forever 21, in Seafoam.  If you have never tried any polishes from Forever 21 before, please do yourself a favor and get a few!  This was the brand that I said in a previous post was highly under publicized.  1.) They're only $2.80 a polish!  2.) They have a fantastic formula  3.) Just look at all the colors and they constantly add new ones!  They carry the polishes both online and in their stores.  For these pictures I used 3 coats.  The formula on this is pretty sheer but builds up very nicely and the shimmer gives it depth.

Look at that shimmer!

I will say Forever 21 could use some help in naming their polishes, they're not very original and you may end up with a few different polishes all with the same name of simply Mint or Lavender etc...  This Seafoam shade is still available here if you would like to add it to your collection!

*Don't forget about the linky party that happens every Friday!  If you are a fellow polish blogger go link up and share your fabulous Friday mani!
