SinfulColors Truth or Lavendare and Night Owl

 *Provided for review*

I'm back with another installment of gorgeous new SinfulColors to show you.  This new 'A Class Act' collection is right up my ally with all these blues, purples, berries, and mattes!  With that said, I have been missing seeing some oldie but goodie SinfulColors being re-released.  So what better place than here to start my campaign?

I pulled SinfulColors Zeus out of my melmer the other day and gazed at the bottle for awhile. You should look up swatches of Zeus if you haven't seen it.  I will definitely post a swatch of it in an upcoming post (+ untried!).  Bringing back Zeus, Verbena, Seaweed, and releasing some international shades - like Lagon (spelled correctly) - would make me super happy! *hint, hint*
But I digress....

These new shades are also gorgeous; keep up the good work, SinfulColors! Just take a look at Truth or Lavendare, one of the recent demi-mattes:

Love the name, and the formula was pretty good.  The above was 2 coats of Truth or Lavendare and I used 1 coat of a matte topcoat to make it fully matte because the dry time was a little longer than the others from this collection.

A couple of days later, I had to see how Night Owl looked over top of it.  What you see here are two accent nails of Night Owl and you can see that Truth or Lavendare wore well over that time.  Truth or Lavendare did start to revert back to its demi-matte finish after a few days of washing and cuticle oil.  I love the bottle shot of Night Owl below, the gold that the iridescent flakies pick up is amazing!

Are there any older SinfulColors polishes you would love to see re-released?  What do you think of these?

Pahlish - Sarey's Berry (Bespoke Batch)

When I saw swatches of Sarey's Berry, a Bespoke Batch from Pahlish that released last summer (I believe), I immediately began searching for a bottle. Since this was a Bespoke, I didn't think I'd find one. But thanks to a fellow Pahlish lover, I can now call this lemming squashed!

Sarrey's Berry is a brilliant orchid flake polish. Yes! It also dries to a satiny finish, somewhere between matte and glossy. I admit that I played around with both a matte and glossy topcoat on this. I'm not convinced that you can really see it in photos that well, but I still included them since this one is just so pretty!

In my opinion the flakies make this a stunner and rather unique, at least for my collection.I did find that it was difficult to capture the true color of this one, the little chameleon! It really falls somewhere in between what shows up on my screen!
With a matte topcoat
Satin finish - no topcoat

I would say this is the closest to the true color, but this one is with a glossy topcoat.

Have you squashed any major lemmings lately? Let us know!
If not, what's at the top of your list?

Pahlish - She Sells Sea Shells (Bespoke Batch)

 *Purchased*

I've really come to enjoy March...college basketball, Shamrock shakes, great weather, Easter candy, and mint/ pastels galore!  There have been some amazing Spring polishes by indie polish makers so far, and Pahlish She Sells Sea Shells is right at the top of my list.
Just look at Pahlish's description: She Sells Sea Shells is a soft Tiffany blue cream with a subtle green undertone; flecked with a mix of purple, taupe, and gold flakes accented by metallic pink/purple/blue chromatic flakes!
 Game. Set. Match.

I really don't need to say how much I adore this polish.  I feel so lucky that I was able to grab this one!  If you don't know much about Pahlish, she has amazing seasonal collections, duos and other creations.  She also releases some special Bespoke Batch polishes.  These are limited edition, small batch polishes and Pahlish usually reveals what Bespoke Batch will be available a day or two before her restock.  (So, check Pahlish's Facebook and their shop!)
My apologies for posting this lovely polish, knowing that it's not available any longer...but Pahlish does polishes like this quite a bit so I'm sure there will be plenty other beauties in the future!

But really, don't you feel just a little bit better knowing that this exists in the world?  Maybe that's a little over the top, but that's how I feel when I see seafoam anything!)

My photos show 3 coats of She Sells Sea Shells with no topcoat. Dry time was great and I know I'll be reaching for this polish constantly throughout Spring and Summer!  Pahlish is celebrating their 3 year anniversary, so I bet there will be some fantastic polishes coming up! :)
Have a great week and let me know the best Spring polish you have come across so far this season!

Essie Mint Candy Apple...Take Two!

You may remember in a post awhile ago (longer than I'd like), I used Essie Mint Candy Apple for an accent nail and commented on how bright and blue it looked.  I just couldn't let it go.
So I went searching for a different looking bottle of Mint Candy Apple and found one, so this post is using the new bottle.  I know there are a few colors from Essie that, unfortunately, tend to change over time and thought my bottle might have been on of the unlucky ones.  As you can see the color is quite different than it was here.

Direct Sunlight
Outdoors -shade
This was 3 coats of Mint Candy Apple.  The formula in this bottle was a little more streaky than my last, so I needed the 3rd coat to even things out.  I also chose an untried of mine, China Glaze Luxe and Lush from last year's Hunger Games collection.  It's not so much a flakie as it is iridescent shards, but I love it!!  It looks like shards of sea glass on the nails. The last I noticed, Sally's had a spot for Luxe and Lush in their core China Glaze line.  I haven't actually seen a bottle there just yet.

I know this post isn't anything new, exciting or a unique polish...but I really missed you all!  I've been so busy and just haven't had enough time in my day.  Thanks for sticking around!  There will be more exciting polishes to come!

Spring Fling Challenge Day 2: In Bloom

Wow day 2 of the Spring Fling Challenge came fast!  This is like a nail polish and blog boot camp session for me! :)  Today's theme is In Bloom.
I would've loved to have possibly ventured into hand painting a watercolor flower as an accent nail instead of the accent I did, but I have never done nail art before.  I'm not into stamping or nail art but attempting a simple flower on one accent nail is something I can see myself trying in the future once I get better.

Because I was timid, I chose the flower-named polish, Delphinium.  She is a limited edition Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure color that was part of the 2011 Tracey Reese collection.  As you probably guessed, it is discontinued but I have found bottles on eBay (and where mine was purchased at Christmas) so I'm sure there are still some floating around.  They may re-promote this color in the future, since I heard they recently did it with Green Tea...which I am obsessively trying to find!
The formula on Delphinium was easy to work with and I used two coats.  It's no secret that my love for a good dusty lavender/ lilac is alive and well...

For the accent nail I used CND Effects in Gold Sparkle.  This polish is similar to Essie As Gold As It Gets but the flakies are much smaller and a lighter shade of gold.  This was also 2 coats and was still very subtle on the nail.

Again, be sure to check out the other participants of the Spring Fling Challenge listed at ECKlipsed by color and Tuxarina

Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow for day 3!
