Oh Shift!! China Glaze Choo Choo Choose You

This is one I am sure you've seen on every blog, (including this one!)  Of course, this is Choo-Choo Choose You by China Glaze.  I saw this while I was out looking for The Giver polishes and my Sally's had the All Aboard collection out early. I saw this in all it's deep purple and shimmery glory and that was it. You can see the strongest purple in the bottle, but it gets even better from there...

Bottle shot, mostly :)
Like this rose, bronze and greenish gold shimmer

Or this shift from purple to amber to green. Hello.

China Glaze All Aboard
Outside
This is two coats and no topcoat.  I noticed in some photos a sheer patch on my ring finger, it doesn't show up in all of them and it's not visible in person.  So, maybe I'll try 3 coats next time. Also, this whole week has been completely overcast, rainy and not sunny!  It's been so wonderful, but I had a tough time capturing good sunlight pics.

Choo-Choo Choose You is absolutely the stand out color in all the fall collections, in my opinion!  If you have not picked it up, you need to try and track it down.  If you have it and haven't worn it yet, then go try it! :)

Indie Spotlight: Cirque Vaudeville

Hello again!  I really meant to post this before Labor Day...so consider this my last gasp of summer before I jump completely into fall!  It's still hot and sunny on my side of the country anyway! Today I have Vaudeville by Cirque to show you.  While it's not a typical fall color, it is really pretty...

I would best describe Vaudeville as a muted lavender with gold and iridescent shimmer.  The formula was great, just a little thin, so this is 3 thin coats with no topcoat.  Removal was pretty easy since the shimmer is more micro-flakies rather than micro-glitter.  I don't have too many indies (yet!!) but this has been one of my favorite indies that I own.  My bottle of Vaudeville is about 2 years old and is still really consistent!  I was pleased that the color and formula stayed as it was supposed to this entire time.

I just love gold shimmer!!!!
If you're interested in seeing what other beautiful polishes Annie has created, I have linked the Cirque website above. (They're 3-free and contain essential oils!)  As always, please let me know if you have any comments or questions!  I hope you have a great week!  See you soon :)

Butter London Two Fingered Salute

This polish has been around for a couple of years now, but I consider it a definite "must have" in every collection.  Two Fingered Salute by Butter London is a lovely patina seafoam green with a pinkish copper shimmer that has an eggshell finish on the nail.  A quick swipe of top coat really brought this polish to a different level, so I suggest trying it both ways!

The formula is fantastic and this was two easy coats and a topcoat of Out The Door.  If you don't use top coat it won't be nearly as shiny, but still really pretty in a different way!  I love this for fall because the seafoam has enough of a greyed quality to it that it's not bright. The coppery shimmer screams fall to me, but really this is a year-round color.

Two Fingered Salute was exclusive to Nordstorm but now can still be purchased on Butter London's website...which I've linked in case I caught you during a moment of weakness. :) I hope you like this one as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by!

China Glaze Choo-Choo-Choose You

We have seen so many swatches of Fall colors and collections coming out and we both ran out to snatch up some of these beauties. One of them that Hayley and I both chose was from Chine Glaze's All Aboard collection and is called Choo-Choo-Choose You. It is clear from looking at the bottle that this polish is different.

To me it looks like a dusty purple leaning gray polish with a greenish shimmer to it, but on my nails I felt like the shimmer was more coppery or rose gold than green. It is one of those shades that changes depending on the light source and angle from which you are looking.

When I stepped outside, I knew that this color was reminding me of! We have a Japanese maple tree that changes from green to a dark burgundy in the fall. What better prop for a fall shade that is also sort of a chameleon, right? Above photo was in the shade of the tree.

In direct sun, the shimmer is very apparent.

Another one in the shade, a bit closer. You can see the deep purple here as well as the coppery shimmer on my ring finger.

Application for this polish was good. I didn't have any issues with it being too think of thin to manage. I used 3 thinner coats in these pictures plus I used Above the Curve's 5-Free top coat.

Side note: I apologize for my cleanup being a little less than clean. This was my second mani attempt and the polish I used before this really ticked me off and thus I lost my patience! I'm going to do a post on that polish as well, but I'd like to give it a second chance.

I'm love seeing all these fall shades come out, but that won't stop me from posting a few more bright holos this summer. And fall. And winter too. Who am I kidding!?

Do you have "seasonal colors" in your polish collection? Or do you wear what you feel like? Leave a comment below and tell us!

Coral Crush: Orly Cheeky

Hi again! It's been way too long!  Life has gotten in the way for both me and Jackie, but I'm so excited to be writing again.  I just got around to wearing this shade for the first time and it's so pretty and perfect for summer that I had to share.  Meet Cheeky by Orly:

Reminds me of the sunsets in Arizona!
This was a beautiful peach/ coral polish that leans slightly pink, from their Blush collection that came out Spring 2014.  My bet is that you can still order it online or might come across it in the Ulta clearance sale.  I purchased mine at one of Sally's clearance tables. It is just beautiful and the gold shimmer that is not too perceptible on camera is definitely more visible in person.  Vampy Varnish did a much better job at photographing the shimmer in Cheeky than I did, but I love this polish so much I had to take some pictures of my own and share.  I love that in certain lighting it leans more pink than coral (not pictured here).  I tried to capture that but my camera would not have it.  All I'm trying to say is that you need this polish!  It was pretty enough to make me blog again after a year hiatus...so there's that. :)

Shimmer! Coral + gold = swoon!
I used 3 coats in these pictures; the formula was sheer and very easy to work with.

Thanks so much for reading, if anyone is still out there!  I promise to be posting more often as well as some NOTDs on my Instagram and our Facebook page.
I have been obsessed with coral lately, so if you have some must-have coral polishes please let me know what they are! :)

P.S. you can still purchase Cheeky on Orly's website.

Love & Beauty Seafoam, A Perfect Color

Anyone who has known me for any length of time (like a couple of hours), probably knows my favorite color is seafoam.  I bought a scarf a few years ago that was the perfect shade of seafoam, and have been in love ever since!  I'm even enjoying coffee in a seafoam mug as I write this!
We all know that mint started popping up on everything last year, and this year continues to be a hugely popular color.  This somewhat helps my cause, because everyone wants to do different shades of mint...so you end up with a few seafoam things thrown in the mix.  I do love mint also, and have quite a few polishes and accessories in mint; but there is a definite distinction between the two colors.  (This is coming from the child who, in kindergarten, lined up all of the shades of blue from her 64 count box of crayons on her desk before she could choose the one to use for coloring her picture.  This led to a parent teacher conference I'm told, where they were requested to get me a smaller box of crayons.  But I digress....)
Now, is it any wonder why I love polishes and all the shade variations?!

Here I have for you a representation of the color I love:

This is Love & Beauty from Forever 21, in Seafoam.  If you have never tried any polishes from Forever 21 before, please do yourself a favor and get a few!  This was the brand that I said in a previous post was highly under publicized.  1.) They're only $2.80 a polish!  2.) They have a fantastic formula  3.) Just look at all the colors and they constantly add new ones!  They carry the polishes both online and in their stores.  For these pictures I used 3 coats.  The formula on this is pretty sheer but builds up very nicely and the shimmer gives it depth.

Look at that shimmer!

I will say Forever 21 could use some help in naming their polishes, they're not very original and you may end up with a few different polishes all with the same name of simply Mint or Lavender etc...  This Seafoam shade is still available here if you would like to add it to your collection!

*Don't forget about the linky party that happens every Friday!  If you are a fellow polish blogger go link up and share your fabulous Friday mani!

This pretty polish was purchased by me and is my favorite!
