Throwback Thursday Sinful Colors Zeus

* Purchased by me *

Hello! It's been quite a bit since I've posted any Sinful Colors.  Zeus is an oldie but is just beautiful, and too pretty of a color not to share with you.  Zeus was one of my first Sinful Colors and if I had known then what I know now, I would own so many others from these older collections.
Shown is 2 coats of Zeus in the sun and KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I'm hoping Sinful Colors will eventually realize they need to bring back some of these older collections like Castaway (Zeus was part of that) and Adventure Island.

Since Zeus is not currently available, I was trying to think of something else that would fill the void.  My thought is that you can get a similar shade by using SinfulColors Lavender  or Zoya Caitlin, then topping with Revlon Matte Pearl Glaze (has a pink shimmer), and finally using a shiny topcoat.  I haven't tried it yet, so if you have those I'd love to know what you think!

Fingers crossed we'll see some of the older shades repromoted by Sinful Colors again!

Pahlish Imprinted Upon Your Stars

*nothing to disclose*

Hello sweet friends!  If this blog has taught us anything (it hasn't), we know the never-ending love I hold for Pahlish.  I was sure I had posted this one, but sadly it seems I haven't.  I'm late to the punch because this was a group custom (the first) for Pahlish Lovers that's not available anymore.
The good news?  There are more customs for the above Facebook group, so I suggest joining and you'll get to see more beauties like Imprinted Upon Your Stars:

If you asked me about holos a few years ago, I would have said I can take them or leave for a good flakie polish.  But if you combine a periwinkle with such a delicate, ethereal holo and pink shimmer, I'll buy all of them!  All of them!  So lovely!

This is 2 coats of Imprinted Upon Your Stars.  I don't have much else to say, but it's a 10 out of 10 in my opinion for the formula (effortless), the scattered holo and the color!  I promise other Pahlish creations will not disappoint either!

Pahlish restocks and releases every Sunday and there are is a new collection of gorgeous new pastel shimmers available right now.  To enable make it easy for you, you can check out Pahlish here.  Be sure to join the Facebook group I mentioned above too!
Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

KBShimmer Spring 2016: Prints Charming

*PR Sample

Just a quick post today to show off another Spring polish from KBShimmer! KBShimmer is known for their amazing crelly combos and Prints Charming does not disappoint! This white crelly has pops of colors in fuchsia, turquoise, and sapphire. I used three coats for full opacity and depth. First I topped it with Rica Glossy Glam for a high shine finish.

Then I had a genius idea to use NYC Matte Me Crazy. I have to say I love this one matte! It was so Spring-y and perfect!
Prints Charming is Rarity approved. I noticed as I was cleaning up some toys how much this one encompassed her colors so I had to post for a quick photo.
You can purchase Prints Charming on KBShimmer's website. You should also follow them on Facebook so you'll know about their future releases and contests! Additional places you can follow KBShimmer Bath and Body are:

Is it finally Spring where you are? We've had some crazy weather where I am, so I've been hot and cold about Spring colors and pastels. I think we are in the clear now though so I'm excited to put aside my dark colors and wear some bright and happy ones.

KBShimmer Spring 2016 Purr-fectly Paw-some and Pools Paradise

*Polishes provided for an honest review*

Hello sweet friends! I'm still munching on leftover Easter candy and happy I found some Reese's eggs on clearance. I'm also back with two KBShimmer Spring polishes to show you, Purr-fectly Paw-some and Pools Paradise.  Let's start with my favorite of the two, Purr-fectly Pawsome....

Above is how Purr-fectly Paw-some looks indoors and in most light.  I love the subtle linear holo and I'm all things periwinkle right now.
*Interesting side note, this was a shade lighter before I applied topcoat. I used KBShimmer Clearly On Top and it definitely darkened the polish.  I LOVE how it looks though, so I was not sad about it!  Then I went outside......

WOW! The holo on this one is a stunner, you will not be disappointed in this polish if you love holos.  This is part of the Spring 2016 collection and also considered one of KBShimmer's Ultra Flair Linear holos. I think you can see why. :-)
All photos are just 2 coats of Purr-fectly Paw-some and topcoat.

The next next polish is another of KBShimmer's perfect crellies.  Pools Paradise is a pretty slightly green leaning aqua with tiny matte pink, periwinkle and aqua glitters. Very pretty and formula was great as always!  I used 3 thin coats of Pools Paradise and Clearly on Top.

There are so many other polishes from the Spring collection that I love, so I will be picking up a bunch.  My other picks include Hello Dahlia, Prints Charming, and I Wet My Plants.  You can check out the entire KBShimmer Spring and Mega Flame collection (14 total)  at www.kbshimmer.com

Happy Easter! Whimsical Ideas by Pam Hatched

Hello sweet friends!  Every year I wear this polish, and finally decided this would be the year I would blog it!  This is an oldie but such a goodie...Hatched from Whimsical Ideas by Pam.  This is still to date my only Whimsy but she makes so many adorable polishes that I don't know why that is.

Sadly, Hatched was from a few years and is now discontinued.  In an effort to conserve my bottle I just used 1 coat of Hatched over 2 coats of Revlon Buttercup, a pale Springy yellow.
Because matting makes this one even better, that's how I wore it but did snap a pic below before putting the matte topper on.

Hatched (on its own) is a pale yellow glitter crelly of about this same color base. You need about 3 coats on its own to build to opacity.  It reminds me of a Peeps yellow and the glitters are perfect pops of color.

If you're interested in checking out the fun and very unique Whimsical nail polishes, I linked them for your viewing pleasure!  Whimsical Ideas by Pam sells through their Facebook page here.

I hope you have a very Happy Easter or, if you don't celebrate, a great day of college basketball watching.  I'm excited for both!  Easter is my very favorite! :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Frenzy - Dauntless

*Purchased by me*

Hello and Happy Friday! I have recently had the opportunity to try a new-to-me indie - Frenzy Polish. So far from my small collection of 5, I love it! I thought it might be fun to post a new Frenzy every Friday for the next month or so, just so I can share my new pretties with you!

First up, I have Dauntless, inspired by the Divergent book series (which if you haven't read and you like YA dystopia-type books, you should give it a read! I really enjoyed it.) Dauntless is a gray crelly filled with yummy multichrome flakes. I also see some pastel/iridescent glitters in there, which really make it amazing.

I saw swatches of this around Christmastime and knew right then I HAD to have this polish. I then commenced stalking Frenzy on every channel possible. And the rest, they say, is history.

I used three coats in these pictures as the gray is a little sheer. I have to admit, this polish is everything I was hoping it would be. I swoon every time I look at it. For me it was just that good. It totally fulfilled my need for a shifty neutral. Lemming squashed!

Dauntless appears to be sold out in the Frenzy store, but a bit of stalking never hurts. You can do that on Facebook or Instagram

Any new indies you've tried and loved lately? Please share in the comments below or tell me what you think of Frenzy Polish Dauntless. Thanks for stopping by!

Spring has Sprung!

If you live in the desert southwest like me, than Spring sprung awhile ago!  I'm embracing it, so this is a bright and fun take on the speckle manicures so popular at Easter and Spring time.   These are two polishes that you may have something very similar lying around. In fact, this look was inspired by a fellow Instagrammer, Grapefizznails, because I adored the color combination she chose and knew I had something that could replicate it!

I used a (now retired) bottle of Sally Hansen Triple Shine polish in Water Lily.  This was my first time using that line by Sally Hansen, and the formula on this was impeccable. I used two coats of Water Lily.  The 'speckle' topper is actually 18k gold flake polish from Sephora (the old round bottles).
Yep! I brought back the gold flakes and I will be using them more!

I would love to know if you think this is a hit or miss look.  Let me know and I hope Spring has finally arrived wherever you are!  Till next time...

Pahlish Bad Wolf

* Purchased by me *

Hello!  I've mentioned before that Palish is one of my favorite indies.  A few years ago, before I knew about them, I was at Jackie's house playing around with her polishes and tried Bad Wolf.  I loved it so much but it was not available to purchase, so I did what any other nail polish fiend does...bought a bunch of other polishes to fill the void (it didn't work) and added it to my DISO list.

Luckily Pahlish has a fantastic Facebook group called Pahlish Lovers and the ladies in it are so great.  I found someone who was willing to sell her bottle of Bad Wolf, and here we are!

Back in November, Shannon (the creator of Pahlish) actually found a batch of the shimmer she used and re-released Bad Wolf, so of course I picked up another bottle.
These swatches are from the original bottle of Bad Wolf.

Bad Wolf is a greyed taupe with an intense pink shimmer.  It's a neutral, but once it's on your nails it is so special that you kind of forget that.  This is 2 coats with topcoat in natural sunlight.

Swatch above is in the shade

Pahlish releases new polishes every Sunday (including small, limited release batches called Bespoke batches)  There are some beauties on there now, so go check it out!  If there are some older Pahlishes you are in search of I definitely recommend joining the Pahlish Lovers group on Facebook!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ever After polish: Let's Eat Cake!

* I won this! *

Hello!  I wanted to share my first impressions of an indie brand that was new to me.  Ever After Polish has been around for awhile now, but it was just in the last few months that I found out about them.  Today I have Let's Eat Cake that I wore as a birthday mani this month.

Let's Eat Cake is a light purple polish with ucc blue/green flakies, shimmer and holo.  The two above photos were indoors...once you get her out in the sun, the holo pops! All photos are three coats and topcoat.

Let's Eat Cake is half of a birthday duo called Rachel's Birthday Duo.  Rachel and Miranda are the creators behind Ever After, so Miranda has a birthday duo as well.  Let's Eat Cake is currently in stock in their shop along with its companion polish.

The other polish in this duo, Mermaid Princess, is also still available in their shop.  It's a pretty coordinating lapis blue holo with turquoise flakies and shimmer. I have that one too so I will share swatches in a future post.

This is a perfect time to get to know Ever After better, if you don't!  They have so many polishes and bath and body products to pick from and some of the things I have seen coming for Spring are just gorgeous!  I am officially hooked!
I have since ordered twice after getting this duo.  If you have any Ever After favorites I'd love to know.

You can find Ever After Polish here:

Sweet Heart Polish - Off With Her Head

 **Purchased by me**

Today I wanted to share some swatches of a new-to-me Indie: Sweet Heart Polish. I fell in love on Etsy when I saw her Alice in Wonderland themed polishes and knew I needed to get my hands on some! This collection, appropriately called the Wonderous Collection, has six polishes in various shades and finishes. I think there is something for just about everyone.

The first one I decided to try was Off With Her Head. To me, this pink falls somewhere on the spectrum of a coral-raspberry, meaning it is not quite berry but also not quite plain pink. I'm not the best at my color descriptions, so I'll let the swatches speak for themselves.

This is three coats of OWHH. I think it could be opaque in two, depending on how you like to polish. Everybody has their own style. The microglitters and microflakies in this polish make it a stunner and I didn't notice that it was too gritty without a top coat but I used Rica's Glossy Glam just because I love how fast it dries. With a young and energetic son, I don't have time to not use a quick dry topper!

I have a few more Sweet Hearts that I plan on sharing with you at a later time, but I just couldn't wait to show you this one. Alice in Wonderland has always fascinated me both as a child and an adult, so when I see a collection with names like Who R U? and One Lump or Two? I am instantly drawn in. I just can't help myself! Are there any themes that you just can't resist?

I'll leave you with one of my favorite Lewis Carroll quotes. "If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there." Something to ponder, eh?

Simple and Sweet Valentines Day Manis

Hello sweet friends!  I hope that you're having a great weekend regardless if you have something elaborate planned or you're just counting down the days to 60% off chocolate (which is the real MVP!)  I'm a February baby, so I do love seeing all the bright pink and chocolate love during this month.  I'm sharing two different manicures that are super simple and sweet, but I really love these colors.

First up is True Love's Kiss from Pure Ice.  This is from that very elusive LE Fairytale Forest collection that came out around November/December.  I hate to post this one, because it's impossible to find now (it took me no less than 4 WalMarts before I found one that even had a display!)   However, if Pure Ice is reading this.....
Why aren't you re-releasing this collection!?!?  Help some polished sisters out!

I adore True Love's Kiss. It takes 3 coats, but is fully opaque and the gold shimmer is perfection in this pale pink.  IF you know of any similar polishes that are opaque like this one, let me know!  I'd love to own a few others.  This was 3 coats on its own with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Next, are a few older polishes but this look will be v easy to recreate.  This is an older CoverGirl Outlast polish I found on clearance, Crushed Berries.  The formula is amazing! This is 2 coats and I have never had a berry polish that was so easy to apply.  I hope other CoverGirl polishes are like this.

I topped it with SinfulColors Love Sprinkles that was from their Valentines Day collection last year. I love the pastel matte glitters they did. The small glitters are light pink, but very pale.  This was 2 coats of Love Sprinkles and fishing out the hearts are so worth it!

So that does it! Let me know which was your favorite. If you know of any other similar indie polishes to True Love's Kiss let me know that too!

XOXO - Hayley

Zoya Lake and Born Pretty Store Dandelion Water Decals

*decals provided for an honest review*
*polishes were purchased*

Hello my sweet friends!  Today I have some very easy nail art to share from Born Pretty Store and a color I purchased from Zoya's newest transitional collection, Whispers.  I love dandelions in nail art and I'm so excited I get to rock them in the easiest way possible!

Born Pretty Store was nice enough to send me a few items to review, and share my honest thoughts on.  The first item I chose were these adorable water decals in different whispy dandelion patterns.  This was my first ever experience with water decals, and they were so easy to use!  These are the Flying Dandelion design (item 20604) and they're under $2.00!!

For this look I used Lake from the new Zoya collection, Whispers.  I think I preordered this set the day it can out.  All these dusty pastels speak to me and I can't say no to them.  Lake is a very greyed out blue with just a tiny tinge of green to it.  This was 2 coats with a very nice formula.  Once Lake was dry, I used the water decal as an accent and later used OPI Pirouette My Whistle as a pinky accent.

The designs in the Born Pretty decal sheet are very detailed and sharp and I love that you get single designs + whole nail options.
To use them, I cut out the flower design I wanted and dipped it in warm water for about 15 seconds with tweezers.  The design slid right off the backing and I smoothed in place with a damp fingertip.  Let it dry for 1-2 minutes then topcoated it.  Super easy!
I highly recommend these and will definitely be using them in lots of Spring manis!

Shade - Lake leans so pretty in the shade :)

If you want these dandelion designs or any water decals you can use my code HAYH10 for an extra 10% off at BornPrettyStore AND free shipping....(the BEST)!  Let me know what you pick up. :-)

Thanks for stopping by!
